Company
Nano ePrint was formed in 2006 following pioneering research at the University of Manchester in the UK. Nano ePrint’s technology enables planar nanoelectronic circuits that can uniquely be fabricated in a single layer of semiconductor via single-step patterning. Nano ePrint’s devices achieve very high speeds while dramatically reducing circuit size and simplifying manufacture.
Nano ePrint has also developed a configurable circuit architecture to deliver the world’s first printed programmable logic circuits, allowing one design to simultaneously address multiple applications. The Nano ePrint approach opens up prospects for low-cost, high-performance printed electronics across a wide range of market opportunities.

Scott is an experienced serial entrepreneur, now leading his fourth venture-funded technology company. Most recently, he was founder and Chief Executive Officer of Azea Networks, a provider of optical communication solutions to the international telecoms market. During his tenure, Azea’s business grew from concept to eight figure sales levels before being acquired. Scott has also been an Entrepreneur-In-Residence with Atlas Venture, a trans-Atlantic venture fund managing over $2 billion in capital.
Previously, Scott was a management consultant with McKinsey & Co. He has lived and worked across the globe including Australia, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, the US and the UK.
In addition to his role with Nano ePrint, Scott is a non-executive director of Cortexica Vision Systems Ltd and Polariq Ltd, and he is a member of the Independent Advisory Board of the Cambridge Integrated Knowledge Centre.
Prof. Aimin Song – Chief Scientist
Aimin holds the post of Professor of Nanoelectronics at the University of Manchester. Related to his work on nano-scale electronic devices, he and his research team have recently won a Royal Society Brian Mercer Feasibility Award, “Researcher of the Year" and "Postgraduate of the Year" medals of the University of Manchester, the Rolls-Royce Prize at the annual Reception for Britain's Top Young Engineers in the Parliament, and Best Conference Paper Awards at three international conferences.
Aimin has previously been awarded prestigious fellowships by the Royal Society (at the University of Glasgow) and by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (at the University of Munich). He has also worked at the Nanometre Consortium, Lund University.
Ian Barton – Vice President of Engineering
Ian is an experienced technical and general manager with over 25 years in the microelectronics industry. His expertise covers microprocessors, programmable logic, digital signal processing, and system-on-chip, as well as analogue and mixed signal circuit design. He has worked in both in both start-up and multinational organisations.
Most recently, Ian was Managing Director of Silistix UK, responsible for global engineering and all operational activities in the UK. Previously he held engineering management roles with Zetex Semiconductors (Diodes Inc.), Motorola, Fujitsu Microelectronics, and Pilkington Microelectronics.
Dr. Richard Price – Vice President of Product Management
Richard is an experienced business manager and project leader in the commercialisation of emerging technology. He has over 15 years’ experience in printed electronics, materials and chemistry, and has been involved with Nano ePrint since its inception.
As a Venture Manager with UMIP (the technology transfer company of the University of Manchester), Richard developed a successful track-record in spinning out new companies, and securing early stage investment and grant funding. He has also worked directly with technology start-ups Elam-T (which became OLED-T), CableSense and Arvia Technology.
